Hello everyone!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my home page. I put this together in order to have a place where my collective works could be compiled and displayed for public viewing. I am 100% self taught is all my disciplines. For many years I have been working on the creation of many types of art ranging from music to video and photography. My main interests was music for most of my teen and early adulthood years. Then in 1998, I got my first 35mm camera setup and that really changed a lot of things for me. Visual arts has taken over as my main interest. I still plan to create and perform music but not on the scale that I used to. I have recently taken an interest in drawing and painting.
More recently, I have been working mostly on high definition video production and custom visual effects. In these times, I feel that an audience will probably respond more positively to material that is richly produce and defined. Audio tracks by themselves simply do not attract an audience like the once did and photographs can sometimes lack the motion and feel of everyday life. HD video takes the best of both mediums and puts them together. A densely packed visual coupled with a rich audio backdrop has the ability to immerse the viewer in a moment. Sometimes, as the case with my "Trains of Canada" video series... The point is to bring something to the viewer that he or she may not experience otherwise. It would be pretty impractical to travel the globe just watch trains wouldn't it?! (but, I would LOVE that... lol)
More recent events include...
- So, its springtime! I took my Tomos Streetmate out of storage. I am looking forward to making a new video highlighting the changes to my bike since the last video. The cost of gas will most likely return to last summer's overpriced madness so... I'll be laughing when that happens :)
- I have some new train videos to update to my Youtube. However, my Canon HV20 took a rather serious tumble and will be in the shop for a few more weeks having repairs done to the chassis.
- I think this is the year that I will finally make a move with my photography. I have been working on a series of black and white images that I feel would complement decor. Dark and moody at times, but there are also some wonderful abstracts. Geometric themes like vaninshing point & hard angles are featured. A wide tonal range and deep focus are techniques I also use frequently. For the time being, figuring out the best method for distribution will be my goal.
- I have a song that is half finished... I have been working on it for months. Soon, I will record the vocals and finish it. At that time, I will upload it to Garageband.com for everyone. Until then, I suggest that you go and have a listen to some of my back catalog. Its free!
